KEEPING UP WITH THE BULLETS

November 15th, 2006

Bullets players have always taken offseason training seriously, and this fall/winter has been no exception. Many Bullets players have been particpating in hockey and other sports leagues, and we would like to take a moment to mention what everyone is doing.

Forward Hartley Blumenfeld has been taking a regular shift every week playing for his fraternity hockey team. "What impresses me the most is that Hartley has gotten involved in a high level league with lots of contact," said Bullets GM Brandon Spears. "The Bullets play in a non-contact league, and for Hartley to put himself, and his body through that kind of training shows just how much dedication he has, and believe me, he will be a much much stronger asset for our team because of it."

Utility player Adam Katchky, in addition to playing waterpolo and football, has been playing once a week in intramural hockey. "His dedication to keeping himself in shape and his desire to improve in all areas of sport really show what kind of terrific athlete this young man is," commented Spears.

Forward Troy Climans has been playing every Sunday morning in UWO intramural hockey, and word out of London is that Climans has dramatically improved his shooting abilities. "It sounds as if this summer we can rely on Climans as a goal scorer now too", Spears said about Climans. The playmaking forward had eight assists in his rookie season with the boys in teal and black.

Bullets B Team Update:

After 8 games, the Bullets B Team record stands at 5-2-1.

Goaltender Benji Lightstone has played very well, and has two shutouts to show for it.

Prospective Bullets player Ben Ashkin has played sound defense on top of being a constant offensive threat.

The Bullets regulars were fantastic yet again last night.
Both Mike Adelson and Mark Leibtog scored 2 goals each in a 4-0 victory.
Adelson and Leibtog, along with Captain Brandon Spears (7GP, 6G, 1A, +15), are all averaging at least a point per game so far.

Ari Greenberg, who recently joined the team, is having trouble finding his legs, but by no means is behind the rest of the competition.

Forward Joey Evans left last night's game in the third period with what team doctors are calling an upper body injury. "It was unfortunate, because Joey is really starting to get back into form. He had been generating good chances all game and was solid in our end", Mike Adelson said.
Evans is questionable for next weeks game.

LEIBTOG AGREES TO LIFETIME CONTRACT

November 13th, 2006

The Bullets have announced the signing of forward Mark Leibtog to a lifetime contract.

"We are pleased that Mark will be a part of our team for many years to come. His incredible work ethic and dedication to hockey is exactly what the Bullets want from a player", a statement from Mike Adelson said.

Leibtog finished his rookie campaign with two goals and an assist in nine games played, but he will be remembered for always executing a speedy and feisty attack on opponents, often causing them to lose puck possesion.

"He was fantasic as a defensive forward for us this past season, but we see a lot of offensive potential in Mark as well", Adelson's statement read.

Brandon Spears had this to say when contacted by reporters; "Mark's offensive abilities have been steadily improving since his first game as a Bullet. He is excelling in winter hockey and is relied upon to be an offensive threat. We believe that this will carry over into the summer and Mark will soon be a force to reckon with in the league. One of the quickest skaters, he throws a lot of opponents off guard".

The Bullets B Team next plays on Tuesday, November 14th, at 10:00pm at the Pavilion. Come check out Leibtog and other Bullets stars including Joey Evans, Mike Adelson, Brandon Spears and Ari Greenberg.

MESSAGE FROM BULLETS UPPER MANAGEMENT

October 30th, 2006

Mike Adelson and Brandon Spears have released the following message to all 2007 Bullets hopefuls:

"The Bullets are a team who will always consist of players who have the utmost dedication to hockey and to this team. We would like to take this opportunity to reccommend that any person who would like to play for the Bullets in 2007 be registered in some sort of organized ice hockey league. Players who continue to play throughout the winter months will be in much better game shape then those who have moved away from the ice during this time. Your chances of being offered a contract will be drastically increased if you have continued to play during this time.

We all want the Bullets to take it to the next level next season and bring home a championship.

Hopefuls should expect contract offers to begin circulating sometime in the new year".

BULLETS 'B TEAM' ANNOUNCED: TO COMPETE DURING WINTER MONTHS

September 1st, 2006

The Bullets have announced plans for a 'B Team' to operate out of the Pavilion league during the offseason.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for Bullets players and hopefuls to keep in game shape during the winter months. This team will have some full time Bullets members playing for it on a game by game basis. The Bullets B Team will always be open for Bullets players who would like to get an extra game in while visiting Toronto", Mike Adelson explained to the media.

The B Team will begin play sometime in September. Invited to join as full time players are all 2006 Bullets members. Those who will be unable to join full time but would like to play in random games from time to time should speak to Bullets upper management.

All other players who play for the Bullets B Team will be labeled as "2007 Bullets Hopefuls", but will have no guarantee of even earning a tryout for the club.

Already committed to the team are Bullets captains Brandon Spears and Mike Adelson along with forward Mark Leibtog. Bullets friend and fill in goaltender Benji Lightstone will be starting between the pipes.

"We feel we will be a competitive team, however our main goal is to prepare ourselves and learn new ideas for when it counts - the summer '07 season", Brandon Spears announced.
