OFFICIAL 2008 ROSTER RELEASED
April 15th, 2008
Its that time of year when the news just keeps on getting better and better. That's right, The Bullets roster has been
filled out and is ready to be unveiled! Without further ado:
After spending all of last season on the injured reserve list, The Bullets are pleased to welcome forward
Mark Leibtog back to the lineup.
There are two newcomers this season and they come in the form of defenseman
Bruce Mackenzie (#13) and winger
Matt Ockrant (#6). Both are heart players with the skill to wreak havoc on opponents. By adding these two, The Bullets instantaneously
became a better club. Look out for these two this year!
Back in the nets, the tandem of
Dustin Stroll and
Benji Lightstone are ready for whatever will be thrown at them. After posting similar stats last season, management saw no reason
to cut either goalie and we're ecstatic to have both re-sign with the club.
Along with newcomer Bruce Mackenzie, the other men responsible for keeping the goalies quiet during the game are
assistant captain
Mike Adelson, veteran
Steven Spears, and drum-machine
Ari Greenberg. The defense corps have always been the strong point in the Bullets game as all the defensemen are responsible and the forwards
consistently fight hard to back-check.
On paper, The Bullets have assembled their most balanced forward corps in years. Anchoring the forwards
will be captain
Brandon Spears and goal scoring phenom
Ben Ashkin. Lethal at both ends of the ice, the defensemen and goalies can relax just a bit better when these guys are on
the ice. Along with newcomer Matt Ockrant and Mark Leibtog, the rest of the forwards are workhorse
Joey Evans, big skill man
Dave Preston, consistent producer
Tyler Cohen, and "Bullet" wrist-shot
Max Shuster.
This season promises to be extremely competitive and a non-stop battle for victory. The team's 2008 in motto is "When
You Do Something, Do It Well" and the team is sure to honour it throughout the year.
NEW ARENA WITH AN OLD FEELING
April 15th, 2008
It's official, The Bullets have changed arenas.
After weeks of speculation, it has finally been announced that The Bullets will be returning to the Sportsvillage in
2008 for their 5th ever season.
The Bullets played their inaugural season at "the Village" and fared very well during the regular season.
Located near Keele Street and Rutherford Road, the Sportsvillage is a state-of-the-art facility that is second to
none in terms of ice quality.
We look forward to having you join us cheer on The Bullets during their games this season!
Keep checking back for the release of the official 2008 roster and the game time for the first game!
BULLETS UPDATE
April 1st, 2008
A message from public relations handler Ryan Daniels:
Hey fans. Everything you are about to read comes
straight from upper management!
I am excited to announce that planning for the 2008
season is well under way.
We have scouted out a great group of prospective
players for further evaluation.
The message to our fans is clear: we are going
to be a team that gives our all night in and night out.
Rumours have been circulating that we are moving
to a new home arena. I can only tell you that we are always looking for the top arenas to call our home. Should
we relocate to a new arena, a press release will be issued almost immediately.
Keep checking the website as all the newest information
will be posted here first. Trust me, there is a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks - including the ongoing tryouts
and contract offers for roster spots.
BABY BULLETS UPDATE
March 12th, 2008
The Baby Bullets have now completed the regular
season.
After a very slow start, the team has begun to come
around, going 5-0-1 in their last 6 games played.
The clubs record for the entire regular
season is 7-9-1 (the team was 1-4-2 during exhibition play).
Teams get a "tabula rasa" heading into the
playoffs, so anything can happen. The Baby Bullets know they can beat anyone, but in such an even league, wins are extremely
hard fought.
